On Friday (January 27) at a press conference, Anchal Foundation presented these statistics based on the news published in various newspapers and online.

- Labani, Team Leader of Research and Analysis Unit of Anchal Foundation said that 340 students of school and equivalent level and 106 students of college and equivalent level committed suicide. 54 of them are madrasa students.
At least 86 students of various universities have committed suicide this year in Anchal's survey.
The survey report titled 'Suicide trend of school and college students: Which way is the solution?' was released in a virtual press conference on Friday.
Farzana Akhtar Labani, team leader of Anchal Foundation's Research and Analysis Unit, said that information on student suicides was taken from more than 150 national and local newspapers and online portals in the country.

Dhaka division has the highest number of suicides
- Dhaka division has the highest number of school-college students committing suicide in 8 divisions of the country, which is 23.77 percent. It is followed by Chittagong Division which is 17.27 percent and Rajshahi Division which is 16.81 percent.
Apart from this, there are 14.13 percent students in Khulna division, 8.74 percent in Rangpur, 8.53 percent in Barisal, 6.27 percent in Mymensingh and 4.48 percent in Sylhet.
Female students commit suicide
- According to the report of Anchal Foundation, among the students who choose suicide, the number of girls at school and college level is more.
Among school and college level students who committed suicide, 63.90 percent, i.e. 285, were girls; The remaining 161 people, i.e. 36.1 percent are boys.
