In a press conference, Enayet Ullah said, 'We have introduced e-ticketing system to eliminate various irregularities including collecting extra fare on buses in Dhaka city and suburban routes. In 1st and 2nd phase, 70 to 75 percent of vehicles of 46 companies have implemented e-ticketing system. 9 vigilance teams of Dhaka Road Transport Owners Association are conducting daily activities to enforce the rest of the vehicles. Besides, 9 special checkers appointed by the association are monitoring the road every day.

"Organizational measures are being taken against those vehicles that have not yet come within the rules," said Enayet Ullah.

He also said that passengers complained that the e-ticket paper does not mention kilometers according to the distance. We have requested BRTA to prepare a fare chart with reference to kilometres. Accordingly, BRTA and representatives of Dhaka Road Transport Owners Association are completing the work of measuring the distance of 46 transport stops. The process of preparing the fare chart with reference to kilometers according to the distance is in progress. Hopefully, the fare chart will be available within the next 1 week. Kilometers will be mentioned on the device if you get the fare chart.
Before this, in the first phase on November 13, 2022, 1,643 buses of thirty companies and in the second phase, 717 e-tickets of 18 companies were launched on January 10 of this year.
