The award given to Bangabandhu was handed over to Sheikh Hasina
The Special Literary Award given to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by the Foundation of SAARC Writers and Literature (FASWAL) has been handed over to his daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Writers and researchers Ramendu Majumder and Mofidul Haque presented the award to the Prime Minister at Ganabhaban on Sunday (April 2).
On this occasion, letters and books written by Academy Award-winning author Ajit Kaur and a century-old ancient artefact 'Phulkari Chadar' were handed over to the Prime Minister as gifts.
Faswal presented the 'Special Literary Award' to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on March 26 in recognition of his trilogy - 'Unfinished Autobiography', 'Karagarer Roznamcha' and 'Amar Deha Nayachin'.
The Prime Minister thanked all concerned for this award. He said that as a politician, Bangabandhu is as high as the Himalayas, but he has also left the signature of unique talent in his writings.
Incidentally, a three-day regional literary conference organized by the Foundation of Circle Writers and Literature was held in New Delhi, the capital of India, from March 26. The conference was attended by a large number of eminent writers and literati from Southeast Asia region including Bangladesh.
