Metrorail stops at all stations from Uttara to Agargaon
Finally, train stops and passenger transfers have started at all the stations from Uttara to Agargaon, the dream of Dhaka residents.
Metrorail's Uttara Dakshin and Sheorapara stations were opened for public at 8 am on Friday (March 31). Out of the nine stations on the Uttara-Agargaon route, the train used to stop at 7 stations. Now that the remaining two stations are operational, trains stop at all the stations on this route.
Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited Manager Mahfuzur Rahman told the media that two stations were opened for passengers at 8 am. Now passengers are entering the station and the metrorail is also stopping.
Uttara to Agargaon section of Metrorail has total 9 stations. Earlier, these seven stations - Uttara North (Diabari), Uttara Centre, Pallabi, Mirpur-11, Mirpur-10, Kazipara, and Agargaon - were opened in sequence.
It should be noted that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the country's first elevated metro rail on December 28 last year. At present, Metrorail is operating passenger services from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
