Demonstrations in Nepal demanding the return of the monarchy

This king of Nepal started the Shah dynasty in the 18th century. Gnanendra was the last king of this dynasty. He was then forced to abdicate after the political history of Nepal took a dramatic turn. Then in 2008, the monarchy was abolished and the republic was born. Nepal is recognized as a democratic country. It is to be noted that on Raja Prithvi Narayan's birthday, his supporters take part in such protests every year. And they continued to demand the monarchy.
Again, the new government led by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal declared a public holiday in Nepal on Wednesday on the occasion of Raja Prithvi Narayan's birthday. Despite the protest, the protesters thanked the government for declaring a public holiday on the occasion of the king's birthday and allowing the rally.
