Three DU students were arrested after blocking a covered van and demanding Tk 50,000
Three students of Dhaka University stopped the covered van and demanded Tk 50,000. When they refused to pay, they extorted Tk 15,000 from the covered van driver. The police caught them while they ran away after robbing. Later, the arrested three students were arrested and sent to the court by the police.

The incident took place in front of the Bangladesh University of Engineering (BUET) central mosque located in Palashi of the capital on Sunday around 3 pm. The three arrested students are, Fazle Nabid Sakil of Department of Theater and Performance Studies, Md. of Management Department. Rahat Rahman and Sadiq Ahmed of Social Welfare and Research Institute.
All three are students of 2021-22 session. Fazle Nabid Sakil and Sadiq Ahmed live in the public room of Vijay Ekatar Hall in DHA, while Rahat Rahman lives in a rented house in Chowkbazar.
The SI of Shahbag police station told the newspaper, 'The three of them stopped the covered van at 3 am and demanded 50,000 taka as extortion. After not getting 50,000 taka, they snatched 15,000 taka from the driver and were arrested by Chawkbazar police station. I was on duty at that time. . Later I appeared at the police station with the three arrested accused; If the victim of robbery files a case of banditry, they are taken into account and sent to court.
Dhaka University Proctor Professor Dr. AKM Golam Rabbani said, "Law and order forces have detained and arrested them, law and order forces and the court will take action according to law."
