BNP leader Sapu was released for 6 hours
BNP Volunteer Affairs Secretary Mir Sarafat Ali Sapoo has been released on parole for 6 hours to attend his brother's funeral. BNP Chairperson's media wing member Shamsuddin Didar confirmed the matter.
It is reported that Sapur's elder brother Mir Arshad Ali died on Friday (March 31) afternoon while undergoing treatment in a hospital in the capital. He was released from Kashimpur High Security Central Jail from 11 am to 5 pm to attend his brother's funeral.
Mir Arshad Ali's funeral will be held at Azimpur Chapra Mosque in the capital on Saturday (April 1) at 1.30 pm.
It is to be noted that Sapu was arrested by the police from his house in Dhanmondi Shankar area of the capital on February 8 this year. He was later arrested in the case on charges of assaulting the police and obstructing a public official. He got bail in that case on February 16. He was arrested in another case before being released on bail. He got bail in that case on March 20. Sapoo was re-arrested from jail after being granted bail.
