Patients and their relatives have complained that a doctor has not come to a ward of the urology department on the fourth floor of the old building of Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital (Shebachim) for two days.

Besides, most of the patients under treatment in the ward are waiting for months for operation (OT). The patient also has to buy the necessary medicines from outside shops.

The admitted patients and their relatives made these complaints on Sunday (March 12). Going to the urology department, it can be seen that 18 patients are receiving treatment in 18 beds in the ward. Among them are patients who have just undergone surgery. The patient has not seen the doctor since last Thursday. The nurses in charge of the ward are also struggling to treat the patients.

A patient next to that ward (who did not want to be named) said, I have been admitted here for 24 days. I will have an operation. Kidney stone. I have not received the serial yet. Three to four patients are operated on every Thursday of the week. Dr. Md. Jahangir Hossain sir he operated. I heard he was sick so he couldn't come.

He complained that Jahangir sir is ill so he cannot come. But the hospital has a responsibility. You can do one round with any other doctor. We are coming for treatment. The doctor did not come for the last three-four days. There are many high risk patients here. Their condition is also bad.

A junior staff nurse of the male ward number three of the urology department (who did not want to be named) said, "We have not received any official notice as to why there is no doctor in the ward." We are providing as many services as possible according to the needs of the patients.

In this regard, the Registrar of the Department of Urology Dr. Md. Jahangir Hossain said to Desh Panwar, I am in this department as a registrar. There are two more assistant professors, one of whom has taken a month's leave. There is another RS, he sees outdoors. But here the department cannot be run with three doctors. Last Friday I had a bike accident. So you have to rest for a week. Internists see me in my absence. I am contacting them on my phone.

He further said that Ward No. 3 (Male Urology Department) has 10 male beds and Ward No. 10 (Female Urology Department) has 10 female beds. But there are 40 patients under patient pressure all the time. Three-four people are operated on every Thursday.

Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital (Shebachim) Assistant Director Dr. SM Moniruzzaman told Desh Panwar, the issue of not having a doctor did not come to our attention. heard from you But in that ward Dr. Apart from Jahangir Sahib, there are other doctors, they did not inform us about this. We will take action by talking to the head of urology department soon.
