The rule of advance sale of train tickets comes into effect today
Usually advance train tickets go on sale maximum five days prior to the departure date. That rule for so long is now going away. As per the new rules, the sale will start a maximum of 10 days prior to the date of departure. The Ministry of Railways has informed that this rule will be implemented from tomorrow Saturday.
Deputy Chief Information Officer of the Ministry. In a notification signed by Shariful Alam, it is said that from April 1, tickets for inter-city trains will be sold in advance 10 days before departure.
Regarding the Eid tickets, the notification said that advance tickets for the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Fitr will be issued from April 7. It has been decided to sell tickets online for this year's advance and return journey (April 17-30) of Eid-ul-Fitr. So common passengers are requested to register.
Railway sources said advance tickets for the journey will be sold from April 1, 5 to 11, to coordinate the timing change decision. The next day, from April 2, the 10-day advance ticket system will come into effect under the new rules.
