2 helicopters collide during training, 9 US soldiers killed
During the training, two American helicopters collided. At least 9 US soldiers were killed.
The crash involving a Black Hawk variant helicopter designed for medical evacuation is the deadliest in eight years. The accident happened during training in the state of Kentucky on Thursday night local time.
Brigadier General John Lubas said two helicopters collided on an open field during a routine exercise. There were 5 soldiers in one vehicle and 4 in the other. All of them were killed on the spot.
