The golden jubilee special session of the National Parliament is going on
On March 21, President Md. Abdul Hamid convened this session with the powers given in Clause (1) of Article 72 of the Constitution.
On the occasion of the golden jubilee of the National Parliament, the special session and the 22nd session of the 11th National Parliament resumed today. Saturday at 10 am Speaker Dr. The special session resumed under the chairmanship of Shireen Sharmin Chowdhury. The session started with the recitation of the Holy Quran.
Earlier, this special session started on April 6.
On the second day of the session (Friday), the President spoke. Abdul Hamid. He said that this special session will play an important role in presenting the history of the National Parliament to the new and future generations. Hopefully, the parliamentarians will highlight the history of the parliament as well as Bangabandhu's customs, tactics and the history of freedom struggle and liberation war in their speech.
Abdul Hamid said, currently there is no opportunity for any other group or unconstitutional force to take state power except the representatives elected by the people.
Earlier, the first special session in the history of the National Parliament was held in November 2020. That special session was held on the occasion of Bangabandhu's birth centenary.
Note that the National Parliament of Bangladesh started its official journey on April 7, 1973. This special session of the parliament on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the parliament on April 7 this year.
