66 arrested in anti-drug operation in the capital
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 66 people for the crime of selling and consuming drugs in the capital city.
They were arrested by conducting raids in various police stations of the capital from 6 am on Wednesday (8 February) to 6 am on Thursday (9 February).
Deputy Police Commissioner (DC) of DMP's Media and Public Relations Department said that 120 grams of 75 pure heroin, 37 bottles of phensidyl, 6 thousand 620 yaba, 10 liters were recovered from the accused. Country liquor, 11 bottles of scoop, 20 injectable drugs and 34 kg 220 grams of ganja were seized.
He also said that 48 cases under the Narcotics Control Act have been filed against the accused at the DMP police station.
