'Pathao' gets license to provide payment services
Pathao has been licensed as a Payment Service Provider (PSP) in the country.
This information was informed in a circular issued by the Payment Systems Department of Bangladesh Bank on Sunday (April 2).
It said that Digital Payment Limited has been conditionally licensed as a Payment Service Provider (PSP) under the brand name 'Pathao Pay' within the country as per Section 7 (a)(e) of the Bangladesh Bank Order, 1972.
The central bank's circular has been sent to the managing directors or chief executives of all scheduled banks, mobile financial service providers, payment systems operators and payment service providers in the country.
Earlier, in 2019, 'Pathao Limited' got license from Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) as a ride sharing company.
