He said this while addressing the plenary session of accounting alumni of Jagannath University on Friday (February 24).

The Home Minister said, I feel weak when I hear the name of Jagannath University. From Jagannath my political life was chalked up and subsequently my success was achieved in political life. Whenever I hear that Jagannath College has been upgraded to Jagannath University, I am filled with joy.

I was a student of Jagannath College when Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman announced 6 points in 1966. Then the leaders of this Jagannath College explained to us what is the background of 6 points? Then we went from village to village and started to make people understand the importance of 6 point demand. If I had not been admitted to Jagannath at that time, I would not have been able to participate in the liberation war. I come here again and again to reminisce about the old buildings of this university.

He said Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman fought to create a non-communal Bangladesh. After 1975 we thought we were alive and not dead. When I see the flag of the country on the cars of Razakars. When I went to Singapore, the car driver of that country heard me and understood that I am a Bangladeshi, then he stopped the car in a parking lot and asked me, how did you kill Bangabandhu? I bowed my head in shame.

He also said, I thank Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for prosecuting those who killed the opposition forces of Bangladesh's freedom fighters, Albadar, Razakar and the family of the Father of the Nation on August 15. Also, I thank you again for making the Jai Bangla slogan a national slogan.

The Home Minister said that those who win the election of the national parliament on December 1 next year will form the government, it is our democratic right. We believe that Bangladesh is continuing its development along the enlightened path. Alumni students of Jagannath University will contribute to that development.

Alumnae president Kamrul Hasan Ripon presided over the speech of the special guest, former vice-chancellor Professor Dr. Mesbah Uddin Ahmed said, I believe that when young people are together to do something, the work is definitely completed. We look to the youth for leadership. Young people will lead the good work.

Giving an example of a bus, he said that in a bus, some women were standing without getting a seat. The women standing there sat on the seats and had positive thoughts towards the youth. In this way the young society can change the society by doing good work.

At that time, he said that it is a lie that cows give milk. We collect milk from cows. Similarly, if the youth want to achieve something, they have to achieve that goal. We have to work to achieve our goals.

At this time, he said to the youth, "If others can do it, why can't I do it?" Self-confidence should be developed. We are rushing towards smart Bangladesh in the coming days, here young people have to work.

Job Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Imdadul Haque said that alumni are the life of the university. Alumni make various contributions for the development of the University. Amidst a festive atmosphere, this gathering brings back memories of a lifetime. We earnestly seek the advice and cooperation of the Alumni for the development of the University.

We are working to make Jagannath University a world class university. Alumni who are working in various institutions will guide our boys and girls. So that our students do better in the coming days.

In addition, the treasurer of the university was present as a special guest. Kamaluddin Ahmad, Dean of the Faculty, Chairman of the Department, Proctor, former Politician of the University and Alumni students.
