Instructions to RAB to uncover the mystery of Sagar-Rooney murder: Home Minister

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said that the RAB will be instructed to give a quick investigation report on the murders of journalists Sagar Sarwar and Mehrun Rooney. He said, "We also want the mystery of this murder to be revealed quickly."

A memorandum was given to the Home Minister by the DRU demanding speedy trial in the murder of the journalist couple Sagar Sarwar and Mehrun Rooney in the Minister's room at the Secretariat on Thursday (February 09) afternoon. Later, the minister said this in response to reporters' questions.

Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said, "I am sending the memorandum of DRU to the DG of RAB right now. Let them tell something quickly, that instruction will be given to them. We are trying to unravel the mystery. I also told the journalist leaders, if you also have any information, if you tell us, we will also look at it.

As we have seen, law enforcement agencies have solved the mystery of major murders. Criminals have been brought to justice. We don't believe they can do any of the killing of Sagar-Rooney. Therefore, without further delay, I strongly demand on behalf of Dhaka Reporters Unity for a fair investigation of the Sagar-Rooney murder case and unmasking of the real killers as soon as possible. Otherwise we will be forced to give strict programs again. The DRU will not budge from its demands until justice is done for this murder.
