Robbery at additional DIG's house in Gazipur
A brutal robbery took place in Gazipur, the village home of Additional DIG Abdul Jalil of Sylhet Range of Bangladesh Police. After this incident, there is fear of robbers in the whole village.
The incident took place at Beltali village of Sreepur upazila of the district on Saturday around 1 pm. A group of robbers took the elderly parents of the Additional DIG hostage at gunpoint and looted lakhs of cash, gold ornaments and valuables from the house.
The relatives also complained that the police uniform used by the additional DIG was also taken away. However, the uniform was later recovered by the police.
After receiving the news, several teams of police, including the officer in charge of Sreepur police station Moniruzzaman, visited the spot.
Meanwhile, the OC assured the speedy arrest of the dacoit group along with the looted goods.
