He said these things in a speech given on the occasion of awarding the 'National Export Trophy' tomorrow.

President Abdul Hamid with the combined efforts of all, the export trade of Bangladesh will move forward to achieve the desired goal. Government initiatives as well as private sector exporters' unremitting efforts and sincere efforts are essential to sustain export growth. At the same time, it is very important to improve the working environment of export-oriented industrial factories, improve worker-owner relations and ensure environment-friendly production system.

He said that there is no alternative to expanding export trade to continue the progress of economic development of the country. The contribution of the export sector to the economic development of Bangladesh is continuously increasing.

Mentioning that incentive programs like providing export trophies will play a helpful role in increasing the capacity and productivity of exporters, the President said that Bangladesh has already been recognized as a developing country from a less developed country. As a result, many of the preferential market advantages enjoyed by LDCs will no longer exist in the future. Therefore, from now on, we have to take strong steps to increase our export capacity and expand our export market.

Abdul Hamid said, awarding the 'National Export Trophy' to outstanding exporters in recognition of their special contribution to national exports in the fiscal year 2019-20 is a positive step to increase trade and investment. This initiative will encourage exporters to expand export trade.
