British media BBC reported this information in a report on Thursday (February 9). US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said, 'The United States was not the only target of this surveillance program.'

He said that they have shared the information obtained from the wreckage of the downed balloon with several countries.

China, however, has rejected claims of surveillance by balloons. They claim it is a weather device. which flew to the United States.

US officials said the balloon was 200 feet tall. which is equal to an airplane. And it can weigh hundreds of pounds or even thousands of pounds.

Influential news outlet The Washington Post reported that officials believed that the surveillance operation, using some of the balloons, was being conducted from China's coastal Hainan province and that they had monitored India, Japan, Vietnam, Taiwan and the Philippines.

At a press conference on Wednesday, US Defense Department spokesman Brigadier General Pat Ryder said the US believes China has conducted surveillance with balloons over North and South America, Southeast Asia, South Asia and Europe.

Brigadier General Pat Ryder said, 'We learned a lot about this balloon and how to identify it.'

The army officer said that balloons have been used for surveillance in all five continents. But their shape and characteristics differed from place to place. In addition, this balloon has been used several times in the United States.

Meanwhile, after launching the missile, the Chinese balloon crashed into the sea. Now members of the Coast Guard are working to recover all the debris from the balloon. By examining the debris, the United States will try to get a better understanding of the balloon and find out what kind of information was collected.
