The Maya civilization of Latin America first got the taste of 'chocolate'. The name also comes from their language 'scocolat'. Which means sour drink. Made from the seeds of the cocoa tree, chocolate was originally used as a beverage. During that period, many people used it as a cooking spice. Then only the members of the Maya royal family, administrators, clerics, soldiers and the respectable merchant community could taste it.
Later, the Aztecs learned the use of chocolate from the Mayans. It was their god Quetzalcoatl who brought the cacao tree to earth. And by eating the fruit of this tree, both empire and power can be won. Such was the belief of the Aztecs. That is why the cocoa tree is worshiped in that country. There are even precedents for offering chocolate to the deity.
The first modern chocolate factory was built in Spain. Do you know which is the most popular chocolate in the world? Cadbury Dairy Milk. It is known that George Cadbury (Junior) learned the recipe of Cadbury bar from Spain and made it for the first time in 1905. But John Cadbury is considered as the first member of the Cadbury company. Earlier he ran a tea shop in Bullstreet, Birmingham. Currently, however, Cadbury is made by importing high-quality cocoa beans from West Asian countries such as Ghana, Nigeria, Congo, Sierra Leone, etc.
