At least 92 people have been killed so far after a 7.8-magnitude earthquake hit southeastern Turkey. At least several hundred others were injured.
The US Geological Survey said the earthquake struck around 4:17 a.m. local time on Monday (February 6).
It is reported that 92 people have been killed in the earthquake so far. Among the dead, 56 were from Turkey and 42 from neighboring Syria's Aleppo province.

Turkey's police and government disaster management agency AFAD reported that among the 56 dead, 23 were from Malatya, 17 from Sanliurfa, 6 from Diyarbakir and 5 from Osmania city.
Earthquake
- According to the news, 53 people died in Turkey and 42 people died in Syria due to the earthquake. According to Reuters news agency, the magnitude of the earthquake was 7.9. It struck around 4:30 a.m. local time on Monday. Its depth was only 18 km near the city of Gaziantep. The earthquake was also felt in the capital Ankara and other cities in Turkey.
