According to media reports, on Friday (January 20), a residential area in the city of Sagareho, Georgia was suddenly shaken by the sound of gunfire. Several people were injured on the spot when an ex-serviceman fired several rounds from the balcony of an apartment building in the area.

After receiving the information, the members of the security forces quickly reached the spot. As soon as he saw them, the soldier started firing from the balcony of the building. At this time, a policeman was fatally injured. Later he died while being taken to the hospital.

At one point such members of the security forces came and surrounded the entire building. However, the police could not enter the building even if the attacker fired at them with weapons. Authorities said that the soldier committed suicide with his own gun after realizing that there was no way to escape.
