The accident happened in front of the toll plaza at Jazira end in the early hours of Tuesday (January 17). Six people were killed in an ambulance-truck collision at the Jazira end of Padma Bridge. The identities of the victims were not immediately available.
It is known that all the victims were ambulance passengers. Their bodies were taken to Jazira Upazila Health Complex.

Padma Setu South Police Station SI Suruj Uddin Ahmed told the media that the ambulance was coming from Barisal to Dhaka with patients and their relatives. The ambulance collided with a truck in the Naudoba Bridge area of the expressway on the Jazira side. Six people, including a woman, were killed on the spot.
Assistant Deputy Director of Fire Service Salim Mia said, the ambulance lost control and hit the back of a Dhaka-bound LPG gas truck early in the morning. The names of the victims were not available. The body was brought to Jazeera Health Complex.
