17 people died after drinking poisonous liquor in Bihar, India
At least 17 people have died due to alcohol consumption in India's eastern state of Bihar
At least 17 people have died due to alcohol consumption in India's eastern state of Bihar. Also, several people are sick and are undergoing treatment in the clinic, according to the local police. The death toll may rise further.
An NDTV report on the police on Wednesday (14 December) said that the exact cause of death will be known in the autopsy. But primarily poisoned alcohol is believed to be the cause of death. The family of the deceased also made the same complaint.
Local BJP MLA Janak Singh blamed the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government for the death. He claimed that three of the dead were residents of his village.
The MLA told the media, "Thousands of people in the state are dying after drinking poisonous liquor." But the Chief Minister is not doing anything. Those who are in the leadership of the government will be held responsible for this. Because Nitish himself said that action will be taken if such an incident occurs.
