25 magistrates are embarking on an operation to prevent air and noise pollution

This information was informed in the orientation meeting regarding the operation of mobile courts of executive magistrates according to the Bangladesh Environmental Protection Act, 1995 held under the chairmanship of Farhina Ahmed. This campaign will continue from next Wednesday (April 5) to April 30.
Additional 25 executive magistrates with special powers to control air pollution and noise pollution in Dhaka will conduct the mobile court. This campaign will be conducted according to the action plan prepared by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. As the level of pollution has increased and only three executive magistrates are employed in the Department of Environment, the Ministry of Public Administration has recently delegated the powers of Executive Magistrates to the officials of various ministries and departments at the request of the Ministry. After that, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change initiated this special campaign by connecting them.
The secretary of the ministry. Farhina Ahmed said, protecting the environment is everyone's constitutional responsibility. This is one of the 10 special initiatives of the Prime Minister. The country loses productive capacity equivalent to about 2 percent of GDP due to excess pollution and health. Therefore, pollution must be controlled to create a smart Bangladesh and a knowledge-based society and to give the people a clean and livable environment.
At this time, he directed the executive magistrates to manage the mobile court with complete professionalism, rising above all kinds of passions and resentments. The Environment Secretary said that awareness activities should be implemented during the operation of the mobile court. Apart from our professional life, we all have to be environmentally sensitive in our personal life as well.
It was informed in the meeting that the Director General of the Department of Environment will provide necessary support to the concerned executive magistrates for running the mobile court. Director of Monitoring and Enforcement Branch of Department of Environment Mohammad Masud Hasan Patwari and Senior Assistant Secretary of Environmental Pollution Control-II Branch of the Ministry Najma Ashrafi will work as focal point officers in coordinating the special campaign.
If necessary due to unavoidable reasons, subject to the consent of the Department of Environment, Executive Magistrates can adjust the date and place of the Mobile Court. The officials of Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Mymensingh regions of the Department of Environment will also work by formulating similar action plans.
