In Madaripur, 11 residential houses were burnt to ashes in a terrible fire
In Madaripur's Shivchar, 11 residential houses were burnt to ashes. The affected families claimed that there was a loss of around 37 lakh rupees including cash.
On Friday (April 14) afternoon, a terrible fire broke out in the house of Jalil Shikdar of Jaduarchar village in North Baheratala village of Shibchar upazila of the district. Instantly, flames spread around.
According to local and fire service sources, the people of the house suddenly saw a fire in the residence of Jalil Shikder on Friday evening. Instantly flames spread around. After receiving the information, a team of Shivchar Fire Service reached the spot with the help of locals and tried to bring the fire under control for about two hours.
Anwar Shikder's cash worth Tk 6 lakh, 3 houses including 2 residences, 2 houses of Rob Shikder, 2 houses of Jalil Shikder, 2 houses of Mintu Shikder, 2 houses of Sujat Shikder were burnt to ashes in the terrible fire. The affected families claim that 11 houses of 5 families, valuable goods, pigeons, poultry have been burnt in the fire and the damage is more than 35 lakh rupees.
Siddiqur Rahman, leader of Shivchar Fire Service, said that it is initially believed that the fire started from an electrical short circuit. According to the information of the affected family, the loss is around 36 lakh rupees. Due to the timely supply of water, the damage has been reduced to some extent.
