We will fight to the last moment to save Bakhmut: Zelensky

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has described Bakhmut as a fortress. Local time on Friday (February 3), he said his troops would never give up Bakhmut without a fight. They will fight till the last moment to protect Bakhmut. Al-Jazeera news.

Zelensky said

• Referring to the ongoing fierce war in the eastern city of Bakhmu, Zelensky said, "Since Russia has increased its attack on Bakhmu, we will defend it as long as we can." That is our fort.
  Bakhmut has become an important battleground in the recent war between Russia and Ukraine. "We will never give up Bakhmut," Zelensky said during a meeting with EU leaders in the Ukrainian capital of Kiev, stressing the importance of protecting the city. We will protect this city as long as we can.'

Zelensky added, "If arms support is accelerated - especially long-range missile support - then we will not only dislodge the occupiers from Bakhmut, but also begin to liberate Donbass."

Meanwhile, Moscow said Russian troops are trying to take control of an important road in Bakhmut. which is used as a logistics route for the Ukrainian army. Moscow also said that Russian troops have surrounded Bakhmut from all sides and are advancing steadily.
