Upazila Chairman Harunur Rashid Khan was shot in Shibpur

Harunur Rashid Khan, former president of upazila Awami League and upazila chairman, was shot by miscreants in Shibpur of Narsingdi. He was seriously injured and sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment.

He was attacked at the gate of his house near Shibpur police station around 5 am on Saturday. On receiving the information, the police visited the spot.

Meanwhile, the local Awami League leaders are angry with the terrorist attack on these senior politicians. Since this incident, the whole upazila has been in chaos.

• Shibpur Upazila Awami League General Secretary Samsul Alam Rakhil says that Upazila Chairman Harunur Rashid was shot in the drawing room inside his house. 3 people go to his house early in the morning. After talking to him there, he was shot. After the shooting, he himself spoke to the police about the accused. Now he has been taken to operation theatre.
  Inspector in charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital Police Camp. Bachchu Mia told the media that Harunur Rashid was brought to Dham from Narsingdi with bullet wounds. His condition is critical.

Shibpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Feroze Talukder said that 3 masked miscreants shot the chairman from behind. Police have started an operation to arrest those involved.
