The overall activities of the ACC will speed up, the commission hopes
Since the beginning of the current year, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) hotline has been conducting operations with speed in all types of complaints
Since the beginning of the current year, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) hotline has been conducting operations with speed in all types of complaints. The commission has also increased the number of daily raids than before.
Moinuddin Abdullah, chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission, said about the operation and the overall activities of the ACC, that the trust of the common people in the commission is the reason why Manav complains to the ACC and seeks redressal. That is why the ACC is looking at those matters seriously. These activities have increased in the new year, the number of raids has also increased.
Bringing up the issue of the commission's limitations, Moinuddin Abdullah said that the commission is ready to provide maximum service. As you know, last year I had a big appointment as Deputy Assistant and Assistant Director. About two and a half officers have joined ACC. As a result, the capacity of the commission has increased. But we cannot work on many crimes as they are not under the ACC schedule.

According to ACC officials, most of the complainants are not included in the ACC's schedule and cannot accept the complaint for investigation. According to them not all can be held for investigation due to the limitation of their jurisdiction in money laundering provisions. Besides, the ACC says that it will be difficult for the ACC to work without increasing the jurisdiction of the commission in cases related to money laundering.
ACC Commissioner Zahural Haque told BanglaNews, we want to work on every complaint. But the commission could not accept the complaints. Because the number of baseless complaints is very high. Another reason is that a large part of the complaint is not included in the schedule of the commission. We have also pleaded jurisdiction over several other charges not in the Schedule. If they get jurisdiction, the scope of work of the commission will increase like this.
