Rabi students protest by hanging the lock in the administration building
Students are protesting the attack on the students by hanging the locks in the Rajshahi University administration building. Earlier, over a hundred students including students were injured in clashes between locals and students overnight due to a dispute over bus fare.
Al-Amin, a student of social work department of the university, came to Rajshahi by bus from Bogra on Saturday evening. At one point, the students clashed with the local shopkeepers due to a dispute with the helper over the rent. The area instantly turned into a battlefield.
BGB has been deployed to control the situation. All classes and exams on March 12 and 13 have been declared closed. During the clash, more than 100 of both sides were injured due to the impact of bricks. When the students returned to the hall after 2 am, the situation came under police control.
Meanwhile, in the morning, the students took out a protest march by locking the university administration building. The procession went around the campus and took a position in front of the administration building.
On the other hand, the university's Binodpur market is still stagnant. Rajshahi-Dhaka highway has been closed by the police from Talaimari to Chauddpai area. Police and BGB are deployed at the spot.
