Prime Minister inaugurated 50 more model mosques
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated 50 more model mosques and Islamic cultural centers today. On Monday (January 16), the Prime Minister opened the model mosques across the country virtually from the Ganabhaban.
He inaugurated these model mosques in the third phase by connecting virtually from his official residence Ganobhaban today. The Prime Minister inaugurated 150 mosques so far out of 564 mosques to be built across the country at a cost of Tk 9,435 crore in the third phase.
The head of government inaugurated 50 mosques in the first phase on 10 June 2021 and 50 more model mosques in the second phase on 16 January this year.
He had earlier inaugurated 50 mosques in the first phase on June 10, 2021. It is expected that 50 more mosques and Islamic cultural centers will be opened in the third phase by the end of next February.
According to the ministry, air-conditioned mosques have separate areas for ablution and prayers.
Earlier, 100 mosques and Islamic cultural centers were inaugurated in two phases. The present government has taken a project to build 564 model mosques and Islamic centers in every district and upazila across the country.
According to the ministry, the model mosques have separate areas for ablution and prayers with air conditioning. There will also be registration and training facilities for Hajj aspirants, Imam Training Center, Research Center and Islamic Library, Autism Corner, Pre-Burial Ceremonies, Car Parking Facility, Heafzkhana, Pre-Primary Education and Quran Teaching Facility, Islamic Cultural Conference Room.
