BNP is carrying out public protest program on 10 demands including the resignation of the government. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir attended the public gathering program at 11:50 am in front of BNP central office in Nayapaltan on Wednesday (January 11). At this time, the Nayapaltan area became agitated with slogans in the mass location program. The activists are demanding the acquittal of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia with slogans. It is to be noted that BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir was finally released after a month of imprisonment. He was released from Keraniganj Central Jail on Monday (January 9) at 5:50 PM.
Earlier, BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and acting chairman of the overseas team Tariq Rahman performed musical performances by the activists of the cultural organization Jasas. BNP leaders and activists who participated in the public meeting lip-synced during the music.

The central leaders participating in the mass sit-in program have been surrounded by bamboo in one part of the front path of the central office of BNP in Nayapaltan and the chairs have been placed there. Meanwhile, the leaders and activists of the party gathered in Nayapaltan with a procession from the capital and surrounding districts to take part in the mass sit-in program. By 10 am, Nayapaltan area was occupied by BNP activists. As a result, traffic on both sides of the road from Nightingale Junction to Fakirapool was blocked. However, the BNP has requested the police to allow traffic on the road from Nightingale Junction to Fakirapool.

Participating in the rally, the activists of BNP and affiliated organizations of the party are raising various slogans against the Prime Minister and against the government. Besides, the leaders of BNP's Gatra and affiliated organizations are giving speeches in the gaps of the public space program.
As per the earlier announcement, this public space program will start from 11 am on Wednesday till 3 pm. A new program of simultaneous movement will be announced from the mass location program.
