Messi is now the best in the world

After almost a century, French newspaper Lequipe's Champions close The World Champions tribute to a footballer. This time the name of the winner has not changed. Messi, who won it 11 years ago, has become the 'best of the best', and is going to receive the Lekip award.

For 77 years, French media outlet Lequip has been selecting the best players in all sports in France. And the award has been given continuously worldwide since 1975. This award is given to the player who consistently outperforms everyone in all the world's games.

This time, Messi has overtaken Spanish tennis star Rafael Nadal on the way to win the award. The Spanish star became the player with the most Grand Slam wins in history by winning the Australian Open and the French Open last year. However, in front of Messi's performance, Nadal's feat was ignored. Messi won the award.

Meanwhile, Messi won the World Cup by defeating France. Kylian Mbappe, the star footballer of that team, received the award for the best player in France. The French did not have a bad year last year.
