Another legend passed away before Pele's death
The world of football has lost another legend before the king of football, Brazilian legend Pele, can get over his death. This time, the former captain of Italy Gianluca Vialli moved to the land of no return to make football lovers cry.
The former Chelsea and Juventus star passed away under medical conditions in London at the age of 58. He battled with cancer for almost 5 years. But in the end he couldn't stand it anymore. Losing to that cancer. Paying tribute to Gianluca Vialli, Italian daily La Stampa headlined, 'The forever captain is no more. He was everyone's role model.'
Vialli was diagnosed with cancer for the first time in 2017. He is well for some time with treatment. Then again in 2021 he was diagnosed with cancer. A statement from his family on Friday said, 'Vialli breathed his last last night in the presence of his family. He fought with pancreatic cancer for 5 years.

The speech also said, 'Thank you to all who have been by Vialli's side during this difficult time and wished him well. His memory and the example he left will live forever in our hearts.'
Coming from ordinary families in football, many have become legends like Maradona. Vialli's story was different. The billionaire father's son grew up in a 60-room palace.

However, he reached the pinnacle of success by working hard like ten others on the field. Sampdoria won Serie A for the first time in the 1990-91 season with the light of his feet. Vialli joined Juventus from Sampdoria in 1992 for €12.5 million. That was the world record at that time. He also paid his price by winning the Champions League for Juventus as captain.
Vialli scored 16 goals in 59 matches for Italy. In 1998, he also served as Chelsea's player-cum-coach.
