Police arrested Ishraq in this case from Shapla of Motijheel in the capital on April 6 last year. He was arrested during the employee team's leaflet donation program to protest the price hike.

The leader of the Central Committee of BNP was sent to jail that day but was later released on bail. But on the date of appearance in this case on December 5, without going to the lawyer, he applied for time through the lawyer.

A Metropolitan Magistrate of Dhaka rejected that application and issued an arrest warrant against Ishraq. He surrendered on that warrant and took bail again.

At that time SI of Motijheel Upazila Ataur Rahman Bhuia filed this case against 42 people including Ishraq in Motijheel incident.

Ishraq, son of former Dhaka Mayor Sadek Hossain Khoka, is a member of BNP's Dhaka Metropolitan South Committee.
