Fire in Chawkbazar area of the capital, 5 units under control
A fire broke out in the ceramic godown on the 5th floor of a 5-storey building next to Bismillah Tower in Chawkbazar area of the capital. 5 units of fire service are working to control the fire.
On Tuesday (April 11) around 11:15 a.m., five units of the fire service arrived at the scene and are trying to control the fire.
An official of the central control room of the fire service said that a fire broke out in a ceramic godown on the fifth floor of a five-storey building next to Bismillah Tower in Chowkbazar.
Dewan Azad, officer in charge of fire service and civil defense control room, told Bass that there was a fire in a plastic factory in a building in Chawkbazar area. The charred bodies of 6 people were recovered from the restaurant on the ground floor of the building. The recovered body has been sent to Mitford Hospital Morgue.
He said that the immediate cause of the fire and the amount of damage was not known so far. The members of 10 units of fire service including Lalbagh, Palashi, Hazaribagh and Sadarghat rivers took part in the work of bringing the fire under control, but now 6 units have taken part in the rescue work.
