Dead bodies of 2 women recovered from former UP member's house in Barisal

The police recovered the bodies of two women from the house of former UP member Delwar Hossain in Bhuterdia village of Kedarpur union of Babuganj upazila of Barisal district. The two bodies were recovered at midnight on Wednesday (January 25).

They are Delwar Hossain's mother Lalmonnessa Begum (95) and daughter-in-law Ripa Begum (23). Besides, Delwar Hossain's wife Minara Begum has been admitted to Babuganj Health Complex in an ill condition. Superintendent of Police Wahidul Islam visited the spot.

• Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahbubur Rahman said that three women were sleeping in the same room. Not getting any response from them, the neighbors informed the police. The police went and found their bodies and recovered them. Besides, one person was rescued in an unconscious state and was admitted to the hospital. A hole was found in one corner of the house, but no incident of theft took place. The body has been recovered and post-mortem is underway.

According to the police, this casualty may have happened due to the poison given by the miscreants. However, the actual cause will be known after the post-mortem of the body.
