Biometric visa applications for Hajj pilgrims registered for this year's Hajj will begin simultaneously across the country from April 16. Biometric visa applications will end on April 30.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs announced this information in an emergency notification regarding biometric visa on Tuesday (April 11).


It is said that, for the information of all concerned, biometric visa application for Hajj pilgrims registered to participate in Hajj 2023 will start simultaneously across the country from April 16. Government managed Hajj pilgrims can apply for biometric visa at Islamic Foundation office of all districts, Islamic Foundation Agargaon in Dhaka, Islamic Foundation Baitul Mukarram Mosque Complex, Waqf Administrator office in Dhaka, Hajj office in Dhaka and Dhaka Ashkona. Government-run Hajj pilgrims will submit their passports and receive receipts where they apply for biometric visas.

Hajj pilgrims of private management can apply for biometric visa through their respective agencies and at the Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAB) office. The notification informed that after the biometric visa application, the receipt will be submitted to the passport agency.

Determination of Lead Agency:

In another notification, the Hajj registration process has ended on April 11 and the registration server is closed.

Hajj agencies whose number of pilgrims is less than 97 must coordinate with the lead agency by April 13. After coordination, the final quota will be sent to Saudi Arabia for entry into the e-Hajj system by adding the number of guides and monajjems applicable against the Hajj agencies.


After sending the final quota of Hajj agencies to Saudi Arabia, the system will be opened to issue Pilgrim ID to privately managed Hajj pilgrims.


According to the last available data after several rounds of extension, 10 thousand 35 people have registered under government management and 1 lakh nine thousand 660 people have registered under private management.

The holy Hajj will be held on June 28 (9 Zilhaj) subject to moon sighting. According to the agreement with Saudi Arabia executed on January 9, a total of 1 lakh 27 thousand 198 people from Bangladesh can participate in Hajj this year.
