"A. League" wants EVM in 300 seats: Obaidul Quader

The ruling Awami League wants Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) in all 300 seats in the upcoming 12th National Assembly Elections, General Secretary of the party Obaidul Quader said.

He said, 'Awami League wants EVM in 300 seats in the election. But we will accept the election discount (EC) in as many seats as they can afford. He said these things on Monday (January 23) afternoon on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during the winter clothes distribution program of Dhaka Metropolitan North Awami League.

Claiming that BNPE has given rise to corrupt politics in the country, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said, "If we cannot get out of this way (BNP) will never succeed in the movement." BNP will not succeed in the election either. They are doing politics of hypocrisy. Awami League leaders and activists are on the streets to face the election.

Calling BNP as 'killer of values of democracy and liberation war', he said, 'BNP has destroyed the country's democracy and election system. And Sheikh Hasina repaired it. His government established the first election commission in this country through law. How will they now repair the state, which gave birth to one crore fake voters, fake votes.'

Stating that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given 3 million winter clothes across the country, he said, "People are suffering in winter." We are on the side of the people. I was, am, and will be by Sheikh Hasina's leadership in any hardship of the people. Awami League did not give a counter program to BNP's program. Our team is donating winter clothes for the welfare of people.

The general secretary of Awami League announced that winter clothes will be distributed to about 3 thousand families. President of Dhaka Metropolitan North Awami League Sheikh Bazlur Rahman also spoke at the event - State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Majumdar, General Secretary SM Mannan Kochi of Akhdan Metropolitan North Awami League, Councilor of Word No. 5 of Dhaka City Corporation Abdur Rauf Nannu and others.
