The visit of the two ministers to the book fair was suddenly postponed

They were scheduled to attend book fairs on Friday (February 24) to unveil two separate book covers. Sheikh Walid Faiz, senior information officer of the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, said that Obaidul Quader's program to visit the book fair has been postponed due to unavoidable reasons.
The minister said the same reason. Dipankar Bar, senior information officer of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change said that Shahab Uddin has suspended the program.
Earlier, a letter from militant organization Ansar Al Islam came to Bangla Academy Director General Nurul Huda on Thursday night (February 23). The letter threatened to bomb the book fair. Later, a GD was made in this regard at Shahbag police station.
It is written in the letter that if prostitution is not stopped in Jatrabari in the capital, the police will be bombed and killed in the police headquarters like in Karachi, Pakistan. Apart from this, Amar Ekushey Book Fair will also be bombed.
In this regard, Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) Unit Chief Additional Police Commissioner Md. Asaduzzaman said that the threat of bomb attack was sent by letter to attract the attention of the militant group.
He said that there is no precedent in Bangladesh for carrying out letter bombings by terrorist groups. However, the matter is being looked at seriously. Nearby CCTV footage is also being analysed.
Deputy Police Commissioner of Ramana Division. Shahidullah told the media that security has been strengthened at the fair. The Counter Terrorism Unit is working on the matter seriously. There is no reason to fear. Writers and readers can come to the fair without fear.
