Nipah virus infection has spread in 28 districts
Nipah virus infection has been found in 28 districts of the country. In such a situation, the Health Department has instructed doctors to take special precautions while treating patients with fever symptoms in every hospital of the country.

It has been requested to prepare a total of 20 beds in the 'DNCC Covid-19 Dedicated Hospital' at Mohakhali to treat the patients affected by the virus. Hospital director Brigadier General AKM Shafiqur Rahman confirmed to the Bangla Tribune that preparations are being made accordingly.
"We are ready to treat the patient," he said on Friday (February 3) afternoon. Currently 15 ICU beds and 10 general beds are kept ready.

It has been said, 'At present Nipah virus infection has occurred in 28 districts of the country, it has been requested to prepare 10-bed isolation ward and 10-bed ICU at DNCC Covid-19 Dedicated Hospital in Mohakhali.'
Earlier, in an emergency notice on Monday, the department informed that there has been an outbreak of Nipah virus fever in 28 districts of the country. In such a situation, doctors have to take special precautions while attending to patients with fever symptoms in every hospital of the country.
The directive further states-
- Masks must be worn while seeing patients.
- Hands should be washed with soap before and after seeing the patient.
- If symptoms of fever appear, the patient must be kept in isolation ward.
- If unconsciousness occurs with fever, the patient should be kept in the ICU of the concerned hospital.
- During the stay in the ICU, the patient's attendants should wear only gloves, masks. Because Nipah virus does not spread through the air from a patient.
- As this patient can be treated in the ICU, there is no need to refer.

Recently, Health Minister Zahid Malek told a press conference about the outbreak of Nipah virus in the meeting room of the Ministry of Health in the Secretariat that 8 people have been infected with Nipah virus this season. Five of them died. The death rate of this virus is 70 percent.
