The mother's dead body was identified by the cry of the child who lost her mother, and the mother was later recovered alive. After the drama of the kidnapping of Rahima Begum in Khulna, the incident of the child Maryam Mannan's activities came into national discussion. The investigation of that case has already been completed by the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI).

Khulna PBI Police Superintendent Syed Mushfiqur Rahman said, 'We have completed the investigation of the case. Later submitted to PBI headquarters. After getting the final approval, the report will be submitted to the court.

According to PBI sources, no one kidnapped Maryam Mannan's mother. Instead, he went into hiding in a planned manner. And the owner of this plan was Maryam Mannan herself. On the day of the incident, Maryam had also sent money through mobile banking to the mother to go into hiding, which came up in their investigation.

Her family alleged that Rahima Begum went missing from Banikpara, Maheswarpasha, Daulatpur, Khulna on 27 August 2022 at around 10:30 pm.

According to PBI sources, 25 days before Rahima Begum went missing, she went to her daughter Maryam Mannan's house in Bashundhara area of Dhaka. They arranged this drama while sitting there. On the afternoon of August 27, Maryam Mannan sent 1,000 taka to her mother in Khulna through BKash from Dhaka. His mother cashed out 980 rupees from there. He went into hiding at night. Official information on the development has been added to the investigation.

Rahima's son Miraj Al Sadi filed a general diary (GD) on August 27 at Daulatpur police station at around 2:30 am. Later, Rahima's daughter Aduri Akhtar filed a case at Daulatpur police station on August 28 saying that her mother was not available. Their neighbors Moin Uddin, Golam Kibria, Rafiukal Islam Palash, Mohammad Jewel and Helal Sharif were named as suspects in that case. All of them were arrested by the police. They were also in prison for some time.

According to PBI, Maryam Mannan had a land dispute with her neighbours. Rahima Begum filed a case in court. The neighbors were winning the case. Rahima's share of land was written down by her daughters. So they made this plot to trap the neighbors.

Meanwhile, Maryam Mannan claimed the body of an unidentified woman in Mymensingh's Phulpur as missing Rahima Begum. In a post on her Facebook on the night of September 22, Maryam claimed to have found her mother's body. On September 23, he went to Phulpur police station and registered the body of his mother. However, the police did a DNA test of Maryam to confirm the matter.

According to PBI, Maryam Mannan staged the entire drama while visiting Phulpur, which was a part of their conspiracy. What they wrote to the police station in the case of claiming the unidentified body as their mother has also been attached to the investigation. Maryam Mannan and her mother Rahima Begum have already testified in court in this case. They are Rahima Begum's son Miraj and second husband Belal Howladar.

According to PBI sources, the son Miraj has given a statement under section 22 in the court seeking justice for the mother. He told the court that Rahima Begum was hiding in different places and telling lies. It hurt his ego. For this, he voluntarily gave a statement to the court seeking justice for his mother.

Apart from this, Rahima Begum's second husband Belal Hawladar told the court that Maryam Mannan asked him to testify against the neighbors in the court. As he did not agree to Maryam's words, the police forced him to arrest him. However, Rahima Begum never clarified anything during PBI's interrogation.

PBI officials said that Rahima Begum is very clever. They have been harassing neighbors one after another due to land disputes. Although all the evidences of self-concealment were found, no information could be extracted from Rahima Begum's mouth. Apart from this, his daughter Mariam Mannan has the same nature as her mother.

The police rescued Rahima from a house in Syedpur village of Boalmari, Faridpur, on the night of September 24 that year, while her daughter Mariam was arranging one drama after another after sending her mother into hiding. Later, Rahima Begum claimed in the court that she was kidnapped.

According to PBI, no evidence was found to support the claim that Rahima Begum was abducted. Rather, there are several evidences that he himself went into hiding. After going into hiding, Rahima Begum went to Bandarban and worked in a hotel. Later went to Syedpur village of Boalkhali in Faridpur. There he asked for a birth certificate from the local union council chairman Abdul Haque Sheikh. That too has been added to the PBI investigation report.

According to PBI sources, legal action has been recommended against Aduri Akhtar, the plaintiff in the case, and Maryam Mannan, the mastermind behind the alleged kidnapping of Rahima Begum. Five neighbors have also been recommended to be released from their case.

Currently, Rahima Begum is living in a rented house in Khulna city under the custody of her daughter Aduri Akter.
