The Italian government has taken steps to ban artificial intelligence and chatbot ChatGPTT to ensure privacy protection, the country's data protection watchdog said. Italy's data protection watchdog submitted a report on ChatGPT to authorities on March 20. The authorities are going to take this decision by taking that report into account.

The watchdog's report also said, 'ChatGTT collects and stores massive amounts of people's personal data to run programs and algorithms, which has no legal basis.' Mentioning that this artificial intelligence chatbot is not 'sensitive' to children, it further states, 'As this chatbot is not capable of verifying the age of users, it often provides answers to various questions of children and minors, which are based on their age and mental maturity. uncomfortable.'

According to a BBC report, the Italian government has written to its maker, OpenEye, seeking answers to various complaints about ChatGPT. The company will have to pay a fine of 2 million 17 million dollars to the Italian government if it does not respond satisfactorily to the letter within the next 20 days.

Ursula Pachal, deputy director-general of Italy's Consumer Advocacy Group (BEUC), warned that society is currently not sufficiently protected from the harm that AI could cause.

He also said that there is a deep concern about how ChatGPT and other chatbots like it can deceive and influence people. These artificial intelligences should be further scrutinized.

In November 2022, an American startup company called OpenAI first brought ChatGPT to the market. However, this chatbot is originally prepared by Microsoft, one of the largest software manufacturers in the world. Google's Bird, this artificial intelligence chatbot, is currently ChatGPT's biggest competitor. It is readily available in the market but can only be used by people aged eighteen or above.
