Export of potatoes to Russia is starting again, the agreement is signed
The memorandum of understanding was signed in a hotel in the capital on Tuesday (April 4) afternoon.
Abdullah Sajjad, chairman of Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation on behalf of Bangladesh and Abdus Sattar Mia, chairman of National Group on behalf of Russia, signed the agreement.
Minister of Agriculture present at the event. Md. Abdur Razzak said that Russia has lifted the ban on the export of potatoes. Although not much this year, one and a half to two lakh tonnes of potatoes will be exported next year.
Earlier, Russia imposed a ban on potato exports since 2014 due to the presence of harmful brown rot disease in potatoes.
