Due to the intense heat, the speed of the train slowed down
Heatwave is spreading in many parts of the country including the capital Dhaka. In this situation, the speed of intercity trains has been reduced from 30 km to 70 km.
Railway Minister said this while visiting Dhaka Airport Railway Station on Saturday (April 15).
Due to slowing down ahead of Eid, there is a fear of schedule disruption. However, Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujan said that the schedule will not be disrupted even if the speed decreases.
Nurul Islam Sujan said that if Eid falls on April 23, tickets will be sold on the 22nd. No decision has been taken on that yet. This time gating is being done from outside. Those who want to travel by rail without a ticket will be blocked from outside. We want to increase the quality of passenger service. We are trying to ensure that all the passengers who will be ticketed can go safely without any harassment.
He said that even if they wanted to bring the railway system in one system throughout the year, it was broken during Eid. But this time 100% tickets are given online. There is no previous image. It is trying to make the painful experience of the past sound like a story in the future.
