Several products including clothing, bakery items, vegetables, juice, footwear are exported to Saudi Arabia. A large number of Bangladeshi manpower is working in Saudi Arabia. Bangladesh imports various products including petroleum wells, petroleum gas, fertilizers, dates from Saudi Arabia. In the last fiscal year 2021-2022, Bangladesh exported goods worth USD 290.64 million to Saudi Arabia. During the same period it imported goods worth 1,693.26 million US dollars.
Earlier, Gambia's Foreign Minister, who was visiting Dhaka with him in the office of the Minister of Commerce. A 6-member delegation led by Mamadou Tangara paid a courtesy visit. During this time, views were exchanged on various aspects of business and investment of both the countries.
Later, the Minister of Commerce exchanged views with the incoming delegation led by Canadian High Commissioner Lily Nicholls in the office room of his official residence in Dhaka. Meanwhile, Canada's High Commissioner proposed the export of Kelowna and Kelowna Biz edible oil to Bangladesh at the government level. The Commerce Minister said to seriously consider this matter.
At that time, the Minister of Commerce said that Canada is a big market for clothes made by Bangladesh. He urged Canadian investors to invest in Bangladesh.
