Adani electricity coming to country in first week of March: State Minister
State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid said that the electricity imported from India's power plants will arrive in the country from the first week of March. At the same time, he said that there is no uncertainty about the supply of electricity with Adani Group.
Nasrul Hamid said this while talking to reporters in his office at the secretariat on Sunday (February 5) afternoon.
There have been reports in various media that uncertainty has arisen regarding the availability of imported electricity. When asked for his opinion on this matter, the state minister said, I think it is very nonsense. We went to see the Adani power plant ourselves. Our team went, I was there.
They had promised to give us electricity long ago. Since we have fixed a date at the end of February, that will be our COD (Commercial Operation Date). Being COD means we expect to get power in the first week of March.
He said, we are trying to provide uninterrupted electricity. For which we are also increasing the gas. Gas prices are relatively stable. We are trying to keep gas uninterrupted in the industry, increasing the amount of gas in electricity too, so that the electricity situation is good from end of February to March.
The state minister said that the coal-based power plants we have will start coming one after another. We are getting pigeons, we are getting the whole thing. We hope Rampal will also come.
We are hoping that the 300 MW power plant in Barisal will come up. We are hoping that the SS power will come. We expect to get the electricity from Adani's power plant from the first week of next month (March).
