Clash between Awami League and BNP: 20 injured

Clash occurred between Awami League and BNP in Sirajganj Sadar Upazila. 20 people from both sides were injured in the clash. Meanwhile, 12 motorcycles were vandalized and set on fire and several shops were vandalized. The incident took place in Paikpara Bazar area of ​​Kalia Haripur Union of Upazila on Saturday (February 11) morning.

  Eyewitnesses said that Awami League leaders and activists gathered at Paikpara intersection to prepare for the peace rally. When BNP leaders and activists went to participate in the padayatra program, there was a chase and a back-and-forth and brick pelting happened. Later the police came and brought the situation under control. At that time, 11 motorcycles and vandals on the road were set on fire.

After receiving the news, district Awami League leaders and activists and local parliament member Habibe Millat Munna visited the scene and said that after Awami League leaders and activists took up a position here to hold a peace rally, BNP leaders and activists attacked. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
