90 million people in China are infected with corona
As of January 11, 90 million people in China have been infected with the corona virus. This information has been reported in a research report conducted by Peking University.
According to the report, 64 percent of people in the country are infected with corona. Gansu Province is at the top of the regions with the highest number of infections.
91 percent of the residents of this province have been affected by Corona. 84 percent of Yunnan, ranked second on the list, and 80 percent of Qinghai, ranked third, have been infected with the virus.
China's leading epidemiologist has warned that the number of infected people will increase in remote areas of China during the Lunar New Year.
Zeng Guang, the former head of the Chinese Center for Disease Control, said the peak of infection may last two to three months.
The Lunar New Year began in China last week. Millions of Chinese migrant workers return to their hometowns to celebrate with relatives during the country's biggest festival.
It is believed that due to this migration of a large number of people, the corona infection will take a terrible form. The Chinese government has stopped publishing daily statistics of infected people after withdrawing from the zero-coronavirus policy last month. However, local sources said that the country's hospitals have already been filled with corona patients.
