A 77-year-old woman has been rescued alive nine days after a devastating earthquake hit the Turkey-Syria border. The woman who miraculously survived is Fatma Gangor. The 77-year-old woman was rescued alive after 9 days or 212 hours after the earthquake.
The woman, Fatma Gangor, was trapped under a rubble in Turkey's southern province of Adiaman. The rescue team rescued him around 12:15 on Tuesday night.
Earlier on Tuesday, a father and his daughter were rescued after 209 hours. They are residents of Hatay province. The man named Ramzan Anchel was 45 years old. Besides, a person named Ramzan Yusel 45 was rescued after 207 hours from Adiaman province. Before that, two brothers Baki Yanyar, 21 and Mohammad Enis Yanyar, 17, who were buried in the rubble of the earthquake, were rescued after 200 hours.
The death toll has exceeded 41,000 as of Wednesday (February 15) morning in the 7.8-magnitude earthquake that hit the Turkey-Syria border in the early hours of February 6. Among them only 5 thousand 800 people in Syria and 35 thousand 418 people in Turkey. The epicenter of the earthquake was near the Syrian border town of Gaziantep.
