World Cup final: Security forces on alert in capital "AKM Hafeez

Tonight is the final game of Qatar World Cup football. Security has been beefed up in the capital to avoid any untoward incident in the run-up to the game. Elite Force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) will work together with Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

Police say that there will be sufficient police deployment in all the spots where the game will be shown on the big screen in Dhaka city at night. The police will be vigilant so that no one can create any kind of unpleasant situation on the basis of the football game.

Akhtar said that the police will be deployed in all the spots in the capital where the game will be shown on the big screen. DCs of 8 divisions of Dhaka have been instructed to take adequate security measures.

RAB's Legal and Media Wing Director Commander Khandaker Al Moin said, RAB's routine patrols and checkposts will remain. At the same time, if there is any information about vandalism, violence or conflict centered on the football game, sufficient force of RAB will move.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that at least four people have been killed across the country so far in clashes between different parties based on the ongoing World Cup football game in Qatar.

Under the initiative of Muthofone financial service provider Nagad and with the cooperation of Dhaka University Chhatra League, two digital screens have been installed in the TSC area of Dhaka University and one in the field of Haji Muhammad Mohsin Hall.

Apart from TSC, the World Cup is being shown on big screens in several other places in the capital. These include - front lawn of Bafufe Bhavan in Motijheel, Rabindra Sarobar in Dhanmondi, Uttara Rabindrasarani, Manik Mia Avenue, Mujib Chatter in Hatirjheel, Gulshan-II Bhavan, Lautla Canal Ground in Mohammadpur Bachihar, Paris Road Ground, Kachkura College Ground, Shyamoli Park, Khilgaon Taltala Market , in front of Rashtriya Titumir College and Bashundhara City Shopping Mall.

Besides, it is said that the game will be seen on the big screen at Victoria Park in Old Dhaka, Madhumati Cinema Hall in Motijheel.
